Habs Boys

Post by Sizzler »

We went to see Habs boys for the first time and were overwhelmed and totally impressed with the facilities and the pupils themselves.

It is a school that we have only just considered and therefore don't know too much about it.

Please can anyone give any advice on the 11+ exam format? Is it just a Math and English exam? Is there any verbal reasoning?

Also how bright does your child have to be to pass the exam and be invited for an interview?

Do they have as many applicants as the girls school?

It might be quicker to look at the school website?

Someone here may answer about numbers sitting the exam though.

Did you prepare for any state selectives? If you prepared for DAO the English and Maths format is not that different. Habs tend to use a page of text and often use pictures for the composition.

There are a lot of prep schools that are major feeders so that tends to soak up a lot of places but any students who is strong in comprehension and Maths should be able to secure a place.

They are very keen on boys who get a high mark at QE. They ask every boy in interview what his QE mark was.

They also want boys who have put them first and will always ask.

Pm if you want more specific details. DG
