How did your son's Merchant Taylors interview go? Any tips?

Good luck to your son for the Habs one.

t was very straightforward - a gentle chat about his hobbies, a couple of maths questions and a comprehension question based on a passage he was asked to read aloud. Nothing to prepare for and no interview with the parents. Fine for one parent to go if it is difficult for the other.

Thanks Simon, a quick question, our MTS letter mentioned that son will be interviewed by headmaster only. Was your son asked to read the comprehension and solve maths in front of the Head or with a teacher?

Wish your son all the very best for any others coming up.

Just the same for mine. Didn't seem to be with the headmaster, but with another teacher.

Thanks TMW, how long did the interview last?

I am also debating whether to send son in school uniform (as he will be returning to school after interview) or smart jacket, shirt and trousers.

Tips on attire appreciated!

Very nervous Mum!

Lasted about 25 mins from the time he was taken away to his return. he wore school trousers and shirt with a casual but smart jumper.
