Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help.My son took the reserve Habs exam as he was unwell during the first exam and hadto come out during the maths paper.
When he went back the teacher gave him the wrong English paper and only realised his mistake after 10 mins. he then gave him another paper and gave him an extra 10 mins. However i think this will have confused him.
Having not received a letter after 10 days I rang the school on Mon to be told he hadn't got through. We are really gutted as his tutor was very confident and he's on the top table for msths snd literacy at school. I have left messages and emailed the school to ask them if we can have his marks and and to let them know that I STILL haven't received the letter. Do you think we have any chance of them giving us the marks?

You have nothing to lose so why not call the headmaster's secretary and make an appointment with him or get his schjool to do it. Whatever you do, don't mention that he has a tutor as they will use that against him.

My son didnt get an interview at Habs. This was a real disappointment as he is a very bright boy & in the top set at his school. Also he told me the exam was very good & he was confident of passing. I have asked Habs many times for his results & the rank order. They have completely ignored my emails & requests. Does anyone know if there is an appeal system or how can i get to know how my son did? I wouldnt normally push this but he is still upset that he didnt get through. Please help.

did you try making an appointment to see the headmaster or asking his school to call and find out what happened?

I think state schools like my son's couldn't care less how they did in private school exams so I wouldn't even bother to ask.
Habs have so many applicants that the ones who don't make it through the first round are irrelevant. All I can say is that my son has had a lucky escape from this school where they don't care about the feelings of little 10 year old boys.

Zorro, don't feel disheartened. No matter which school your son goes to he shall certainly make a success of his life. Bright sensible children's future is not decided at 10. I wish him well for all that is yet to come.

Hello, having poured over previous posts I am sure that there was a reply that said Habs had provided information on scores to a prospective fanily previously. I know email and phone calls are a lot more convenient than writing letters, but perhaps the best thing to do is to request the information by letter and include an sae. There seems to be a few disgruntled parents regarding both the lack of further information and feedback generally from Habs- including myself. I appreciate that this is a busy time for them but they have to understand that it is a stressful time for us. Matters like this need to be dealt with promptly and with sensitivity if they are not to tarnish their reputation.

Absolutely right! I recived an email yesterday from Habs stating that "in the circumstances" they would send me another rejection letter. Yippee!!! I emailed them back to ask (again!)if thet would let me know my son's marks they have forwarded that to the Registrar-I'm not holding my breath! They still haven't told me if the right English paper was taken into account or given me any sort of apology for the mix up when he had to go back for the Reserve exam.
Ah well!

A friend mentioned that he asked the Deputy Head at the Habs interview for his son's results. He was told that they do not give out any results due to the exams being internal. However as fedupmum mentioned Lion63 (?) mentioned in a previous post that he had rejected Habs but wrote to them for his son's results later on and managed to get the information.

Good Luck
