How far does/will your child travel to their school?

Really agree with Hope about it not being cool to be clever.
My daughter's friend started secondary school 2 yrs ago. She is bright and really keen to learn. She got fed up of other kids mucking about when she was trying to work. This takes the teacher's time away from able pupils when they have to deal with troublemakers who are not interested in learning. She got teased mercilessly , called a swot etc etc.
The family are now moving to the West Country this summer.Although not the only one this is one of the reasons they are moving as they didn't want their DS to go to that school.
So if your child is bright and wants to work forget the friend issue and think of your childs' academic progress.
