Just for info,
Tonbidge School have this bursary available.

It is apparentely for boys from state schools, who can be recommended by their Head Teacher and sit an exam like the 11+, and who parents
earn, I think, less than 16,000.

If selected, Tonbridge pays for the boy to go to a private school from age 11 to 13 and then, if financial circumstances dont change, their entire
schooling is paid for at Tonbridge.

Tonbridge School also offer good deals to families with modest incomes, we have an 80% scholarship/bursary. The foundation awards are only available to local children, from a state school and Tonbridge will then pay for two years of prep education as well.

We do not receive any help towards the prep fees. They waive the £1000 entry fee for their scholars as well.

Our income is modest for private school parents, but adequate nonetheless, teacher and a civil servant = good scholarship/bursary
