Loopyloulou you are so right! Luckily he is not immature though. We've fully involved him in discussions about applying to independent schools and he has been very mature throughout. It is only since I asked him his honest opinion of it all that these things have emerged (why did I do that?). I like your no nonsense 'local comp is simply not an option' and yes you are right - "his preference for Llandovery is more symptomatic of his classmates' attitudes to Christs than anything else". I think I'm being a bit too wet and sensitive :oops: and a bit of firmly setting straight is what he may well need! They just can't conceive how easily they will settle into a new environment can they?

"chavvy" LOL :lol: He already insists on buying 'non-chavvy' trainers so maybe there is real hope!

Exam for Llandovery is on Saturday - fingers crossed! Christ's exam is in Feb. Will let you know how it goes!
