Anyone know whether the year 6 sats results are used for future attainment in secondary school? I am not thinking about the setting of children just the future expectations of the child.

OK, so the secondary school have sats test results and many do cats tests too to get the target for the child. If the child's sats results were unexpectedly low, are they then going to be constantly flying past those set targets? Do they adjust them as the child progresses, or do they pay more attention to the cats score?

cant speak for secondary school ,but in primary they are constantly reviewed. I had to set targets for my class with the headteacher, looking at where they were, recent progress and a feasible target.

The FFT data bases targets on TA too - so it's not just on test results. Targets should be adjusted - usually up rather than down.
