KS1 sats

My child's school says that in 2011 they will assess Year 2 children by National Curriculum levels - it will be a teacher assessment but could / will involve using some past KS1 sats papers.

Have I understood this right?

What years do past papers exist for and where can I locate them (at a moderate cost!), and which subjects? (All three subjects each year, or did it vary year by year)

Are there different papers for different NC levels, e.g. 1, 2 and 3 or is it all within one paper?

Is there a statutory requirement to teacher assess at KS1 at the moment?

Is the teacher assessment moderated externally to the school in any way?

Are any of these arrangements likely to change by Summer 2011?

Sorry for all the questions.

Sorry - I cant answer most of those questions but DS2 is doing KS1 SATs sometime soon & it is also teacher assessed in case someone has a bad day & underperforms. It's really only the school that it matters for rather than the child as the teacher should already know the level that the child is working to.

try http://www.emaths.co.uk/KS1SAT.htm for some past maths
papers
& brightminds has some English sats papers http://www.brightminds.co.uk/publish.as ... 1&SignedUp ISTR that some of the links were broken & I di find them on the QCDA website but didnt note down the web address :(

Edit - Try this ( I cant get the full adress) but if you type Key Stage 1 into the search box then tick the pdf box it comes up with some papers.

From memory there are separate papers for up to level 2 and level 3

Teacher assessment is a statutory requirement.

Not sure about moderation or changes.

Hi Mystery,

The teachers guide & mark scheme is located with the papers and contains the level thresholds.
