The "reading wars" have plenty of "experts" spouting forth on both sides.

With the PM levels, how quickly would you expect children to progress through the levels?

Do you have a good link to them? My impression is that they are just like a different version of the sort of coloured reading bands that Oxford Reading Tree etc used in in its old sight word reading schemes - so they're not in any way linked to a child's developing skills in decoding using phonics.

So hard to say.
