Hi lala

3 metre square
A square of with each side 3 metres would have an area of 9 square metres

3 square metre
whereas a square with an area of 3 square metres would mean that each side was the square root of 3 or approx 1.732 metres

or I suppose 3 square metres can be 3 times 1 square metre ie a third the size of the 3 metre square.... deffoe not a good mistake to make when estimating quantities of flooring.....

Hi Lala

If the text book is saying it's the same then I hope it said:

3 Metres Squared and not 3 Metre Square and also 3 Square Metres and not Metre.

If not then the text book is ambiguous and probably trying to confuse.
