We recently heard about a successful transfer appeal where JHGS were forced to take a number of students yet we were not offered a place.
This sounds correct. The admission authority can only offer you a place if there is a vacancy (i.e. if the number on roll drops below the published admission number). Successful appellants, on the other hand, are 'imposed', and
additional to the normal admission number.

Bucks CC said we can appeal but this will not be heard until September.
Timescales are set out here:
http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/appeals/general#a23 Appeals are not normally heard during the summer holiday.
