Hi

I am seeking advice from any trafford parents whose DD failed the test but was successful in securing a place at Sale Grammar School.

My DD failed by two marks. The school carries out their own internal review of the paper - only circumstances that were notified on the exam day are taken into account (parents are not permitted to attend or submit additional information) and DD still deemed to have failed by 2 marks. I note from previous threads that parents used to be able to appeal against the score prior to allocation letters being issued in March. But the procedure has changed this year and I have to wait until March to appeal. I would be grateful to receive any advice from trafford parents who have been through an appeal firstly on the score and secondly on oversubsciption. Here's hoping!

Hi SGS Mum

I went through an appeal for my niece for a Trafford Grammar (not SGS) last year.

Won non qual but not oversubscription.

Happy to share appeal info if it helps, think you would be much better posting on the Trafford Section if looking for help from Trafford parents.

I do know though, that Sale only admitted a very small number out of catchment last year because they tend to fill their spaces easily. The stats on this are somewhere on one of the Trafford Posts.
