Re: Bucks - missed by 2 points - timescales & other question
I think the scores that Clare posted earlier today are CATs that the school has administered this week?Etienne wrote:So the school has done no CATs or NFER reasoning tests of its own?

Sorry - I was focusing on the previous history, and this should have read "So the school has done no other CATs or NFER reasoning tests of its own?"

Thank you Etienne
Yes is stronger on Maths. There were year 5 CATs: 116,117,118
118 was the VR.
Did do a level 5 Maths paper in the Summer.Scored 82 per cent but I do not know what that equates to in terms of SAT levels.
I am beginning to think I could do with an Ed Psych report as the scores seem a bit erratic. Can anyone recommend one?

The year 5 CATs - 116,117,118 (VR) - don't help the argument that he is stronger with Q/NVR. The VR is in line with his 11+ scores, but it seems to be a relative weakness in that he has never scored above 121.
Anyway, it looks as if the school may not have included these results on the summary sheet.
To summarise the rest of the academic evidence:
I think you need to ask the panel if they would consider the academic evidence as a whole.
Worth making the point that he is stronger on the maths side and at Q/NVR (based on recent CATs).

To summarise the rest of the academic evidence:
That all looks good apart from the blip in VR.Reading age 12 yrs 6 months
Spelling age 15 yrs 10 months
CATS : Quantative:127
Non Verbal:123
Verbal Reasoning:112
Acceptable.KS2 predicted level 5 in all three subjects
Both respectable scores.11 plus scores 119 and 117
Especially useful if it's a high performing school.A sets both Maths and English in top 20 of 66 in school year
Good! - especially if the head's overall recommendations turn out to be realistic.KS1 SATS level 3
Recommended 1 for academic and 2 for attitude
stronger on Maths
