Compare and Contrast
Hi
I am appealing to a VA school. Do I need to state reaons why in my written statement the allocated school is unsuitable? I have read it is not necessary in the case of VA schools as they are less interested in your allocated school.

Re: Compare and Contrast
You are quite right - you have to say WHY you want the school you are appealing for, not why you don't want the one you have been allocated
Re: Compare and Contrast
VA or not, you are appealling for the school you want not arguing against the one you have been given.

Re: Compare and Contrast
We have recently been successful at an oversubcription GS appeal.
Our appeal was very much focussed on why the GS was the right fit for our DS, however, the panel's decision actually drew reference to the fact that the comprehensive place that we were offered wouldn't deliver the level of challenge DS needed in comparison. I guess it depends on what school you have been offered as to if this is relevant for you.
We managed to get this accross without being negative about the comp and making our DS's learning style the focus.
Good Luck.
