Post subject: Is it worth appealing
PostPosted: Sat Mar 03, 2007 12:24 pm
My daughter got 130 but needed 136 to get in to Wirral Grammar, is it worth going to appeal as she is absolutely devastated.

Any advice gratefully received as I am not sure if these scores are just too far out.

Thanks

Do you mean 230 ?

I have heard people passed with less 229. Don't know how this is possible.

You should speak to your LEA and ask what is going on.

I think you need to talk to the current head to see what he/she thinks, and how strongly the school would support an appeal.

As a rule of thumb, the further away from the pass mark, the stronger the case needs to be.

Regards
