My DD will pass I'm sure but since the school is already full is there any point ? I guess she passes and then we appeal ?

The short answer is yes, take the test then appeal for a place. It is unlikely that your appeal will be heard before September now unless you are extremely lucky.

Although you may face a situation where the school already has some pupils over numbers due to successful on-time appeals you will at least probably be the only appeal the panel have to focus on, not one of a crowd, and also there is always the possiblity that there may be some movement over the summer. It is certainly not unknown for a child simply to never turn up on the first day of the autumn term.
