He said that County Hall would type and post us the decision letter the following day.

He meant well, but I suspect it would have been more accurate to say that this would be the earliest the letter could be sent!

We were also told by our LA rep that the letter would be posted the next day. In reality it wasn't! We went on Tuesday and the letter was posted on Friday and arrived Saturday. Just to let you know the likely timescale.

Just to add to this we were told that it would be more likely be a week before we heard anything. 7 long antagonising days. We are fine with the decision either way but the waiting is just too much.....

Thank you all for your replies. Even if the letter was posted the next day, for some reason I wasn't expecting it to come First Class.

Either way, we should hear before next weekend.

In the meantime, we will live in blissful ignorance

Our appeal was unsuccessful.

The hearing was Wednesday, the letter was dated Thursday, postmarked Friday and we received it Saturday.

I am sorry that I missed your post on Friday.

I am sad that it wasn't the outcome you had hoped for, but as Etienne says, 111/116 was a tough call. You did your very best, and I hope that you have an acceptable alternative school.
