Is the LEA rep allowed to ask us questions and react to answers during the appeal hearing?

Yes, they are. Many won't interfere and will just do their standard "bit", but some may become fairly involved with proceedings. It has even been known for an LA Rep to start backing the parents up!

The LA rep. has two specific slots in the order of business - 'Questions to parents' and 'Summing up'.

It may also be appropriate for the LA rep. to be involved at other times, but this would be at the discretion of the chair.
