Note to self : allow the panel to talk!
Good point. With our panel, the way it tends to work out is our chair (chosen when we arrive by mutual consent) does all the introductions, formal questions (is there anything else you want to say at all? Do you think you've had a fair chance to say all you need...) and most of the other main questions, another person (who's a former teacher at a school that always has a lot of G & T children (demographics, mainly)) asks the education questions, and I keep silent 90% of the time, but make notes of salient points (such as 'No real/major reason he/she didn't do well on the day') - which the clerk wouldn't do (she takes verbatim notes), and ask the occasional question.

This is just the way we seem to work - and we find it's OK for us. If there was a different make up, I might speak more if I felt questions had not been asked that were needed.
