Academic evidence

Post by sana15 »

Hi moderators

I need your help and advice again

As you might remember we lost the bucks appeal due to lack of academic evidence even though we had ht summary, year 5 report, and genuine extenuating circumstances.

I am now appealing for a Berkshire school where she also failed by two marks. My question is I would like to get a ep report done but don't know how to go about it. Also this time my dd teacher has given a letter stating current tested levels as 4a for Maths and English and 5c for science and has said that he predicts level 5s for sats. Any advice would be welcomed.

Hi I've had the report back from the ep. He has given a good written summary saying if it wasn't for our extenuating circumstances my dd would have passed the 11+.

The results are as follows, some appear to be pretty good and others less so, but to be honest I'm not entirely sure what they mean - any advice most welcome! Do they indicate high academic ability?

Each appeal panel will decide for itself what weight to give to any particular evidence, but I can give you my own view, Nas.

The overall result - a FSIQ at the 90th percentile - looks acceptable for grammar school.

If the 11+ comprised VR, then you are able to point to alternative evidence of really good VR ability (95th percentile).

If the 11+ comprised NVR, then you can point to alternative evidence of really good ability in perceptual reasoning (90th percentile).

These are the results of WISC tests - widely used by educational psychologists, and well-respected.
