Authoritys statement received - help needed!

Just received the authority's statement for my daughters appeal against being deemed non selective and the school is also oversubscribed. My daughter missed by 1 mark from being on the reserve list.

As I went through the package I noticed a letter from the school we are appealing for, stating from the Head that they could not possibly take anymore children as this is going to put too much pressure on the school etc. There are 7 forms in this school and 30 per class.

I now feel I have an even bigger battle on my hands, I did not realise the school itself would be involved this much and make a statement against my daughter getting a place.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Don't worry, Bexleymum. This is not unusual.

Most parents do not in fact challenge the authority's case for oversubscription. You counter their case by putting forward the reasons why you want a place. See the Q&As, C1-2.
