one mark short

Post by bern »

Our daughter is one point short, on her score.We are very happy with this result but wonder
if we should appeal.We are within 5 minutes walking distance to the Grammar school,will distance
help with our Appeal.
Headteacher has already appealed but it was rejected how does this work ?

Which part of Kent are you in?

Which school(s) are you looking at? Are they usually oversubscribed, if so you will have to appeal for both non-quali and over subscription.

How many did they take on appeal last year?

What was the reason the HT appeal was not successful?

What were her scores, which one was she short on?

You will need to gather plenty of evidence of her ability, current levels etc.

Let us know a bit more details and I am sure you will get lots of advice from people that are more local to your area or the schools you are interested in.

Unfortunately distance won't make a difference at an non qualification appeal - you need academic evidence!

. have a read of the FAQ http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/appeals" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi bern. The HT review is a mystery..... really it is! The link to more information is excellent and was the basis for our appeal 3 years ago.

Some of your success will be which area you are in and the types of school you want for your DD. A little more information will help with our advice and for members of the forum to share local information.

Good luck!
