review panel vs appeal process

My DD was 6 marks away from the pass mark for Buckinghamshire, and one mark away from the Berkshire test
The head teacher predicted our DD as a 1.1 prior to the exam
We have applied to the selection review panel with the full support of the head teacher who has completed the review panel form indicating that our DD
has Sats predictions for the end of year 6 Maths 6c, English reading 6c English writing 5a, her verbal reasoning scores for year 5 were 138 and year 4 129
Her current reading level is 15+ and spelling 17+

As with all panel reviews or appeals the head feels we have very strong extenuating circumstances backed up by evidence that he feels is significant

We hope that we are doing the right thing by going to review rather than appeal, we would appreciate any feedback or idea's on how best to achieve success in getting our DD into grammar school, any advice would be gratefully appreciated many thanks
