Appealing in Bucks and Berks - Where to put schools on CAF?
Hi
My DD failed both Bucks and Berks by 2 and 3 marks respectively. I can't believe it but onwards and upwards.
I believe we have very good grounds for appeal due head teacher report, death in the family and newborn.
I am out of area living in West Drayton.
I am considering appealing to both Burnham Grammar School and Upton Court Grammar.
I have three questions:
1. - As i know we have not qualified but the two grammar schools are my true preference, should i put them first on my CAF, if so in which order?
2. Will putting preferred comp 3rd affect my ability to obtain a place at this school?
3. - Are there any grammar schools that are easier and have more places available for appeals each year?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Yes put the Grammars first on the CAF in the order you prefer them.
As you did not qualify for your top two choices your third choice effectively becomes 'number 1'; this does not affect your chance of a place at the comp.

Welcome to the forum.
Could you clarify your question please? I am assuming your child scored lower than 121 in the Bucks Transfer Test?
For Bucks, are you going for a review?
Are you naming GS on your CAF?

Hi hellohello123,
I have merged this thread with your previous thread.
We ask posters on Appeals to stick to a single thread because, (as you can see from Guest55's reply), it saves us wasting time hunting down information about your case.

Re: Appealing to more than one school
Hi
I am still yet to confirm my choices.
Yes 118 in Bucks so we will be going for review. Very unsure as to how the whole process works? Could you please clarify? We are not based in Buckinghamshire. We are in West Drayton
I would also like appeal to buckinghamshire. Is this an individual process and can i therefore lodge appeals at both upton and Herschal grammer if i were to include both on my form?
Thanks

Re: Appealing to more than one school
You need to put the Bucks GS on the CAF to review or appeal. If the review is successful your child will be deemed qualified and may get a place in round one depending on which GS you name.
Appealing is a separate process after March.
Have you completed and returned the review paperwork?
(Typos corrected )

If you look at last year's thread, it will give you an idea of how the Bucks appeal arrangements work.Very unsure as to how the whole process works ...... I would also like appeal to buckinghamshire. Is this an individual process ..... ?

Yes - you would fill in an appeal form for them in March.and can i therefore lodge appeals at both upton and Herschal grammer if i were to include both on my form?

Hi
Thank you. Your information is so helpful.
If i was to appeal to bucks and review was successful but the school i put had no places does this mean i would lose out?
Do you think it would be wise to put two grammar schools from bucks and 2 from Berkshire and fill the other two choices with realistic comprehensives?
Thanks again
