We have not been successful, however I feel there are some major discrepancies in the results. Our child got 108 but we appealed on exceptional circumstances. I had cancer and was in undergoing my treatment from Jan 2014 to June. I spent 6 weeks in hospital the family had to be split up whilst I was away yet I do not feel this has been taken into consideration. Our child's end of year 5 scores were 5b for maths and reading and 4a for writing. They have put that the academic evidence does not demonstrate suitability for grammar school but also ticked that evidence clearly shows she will leave with 3level 5s. The head teacher also incorrectly put that she was a level5c in maths when her report clearly says 5b. Do you think we have grounds go appeal against the decision?? Can anyone advise. Thanks

Welcome! :D

We have to distinguish between 'process' and 'judgement'.
You cannot challenge the panel's judgement - you can only look to see if there was any fault with the process.

Because there is evidence that your illness was noted by the panel, the process was followed correctly.
Understandably you feel they should have given more weight to your illness, but that's a matter of judgement, and I'm afraid it's not something you can query.

However, I think it would be worth arguing that the clerk's notes are inadequate, and that it is unclear what criteria were being used in order to arrive at the decision about academic suitability.

You ought to try an appeal and see what happens.

If you haven't already seen it, section D of the following thread from last year will give you an idea of what lies ahead if you wish to appeal.
