My son scored a 120 Mark yet on practise papers he was scoring 95 - 97%. He has always scored high marks in SATs and all his school tests, so to say the least we are surprised he did not pass. Has it ever been know that an error was made during the marking and standardisation process of a paper and is there any option to have his paper rechecked.
What are our chances at an appeal process with a score of 1 short of the official mark. We would have support from our headteacher and supporting academic information.

You can ask Admissions for a remark, but will have to pay the costs. I believe it is very rare for a mistake to be found.

Around 70% of appeals with 120 succeeded last year, but your chances are affected by the totality of the evidence, including the other score.
