Appeal hearings and levels

I am going to appeal for my DC soon

During an appeal because this is the first year for the new SATS testing system, could one use the old levelling system to say what my DC levels were at the end of year 5 and take this to the panel? It is so difficult as the SATs results are not out until July. We do have a strong head teachers letter stating academic ability though. I know primary schools at the moment are slightly different as to how this is interpreted.

I know from reading this forum over previous years that the panel would look for level 6's or 5's

I would be grateful for any input - thank you

We got our head to say that under the old system he would have been sitting the level six papers it must have worked as our appeal was successful
