Hi, we had our appeal last Wednesday and they said we should have a decision in 5 days, not sure if that was working days or not but we haven't heard anything.

If it's working days it should be tomorrow, can it take longer? Would they have to inform us it will be longer?
How long have other people waited for their decision?

Many thanks.

We were told that it would be 5 school days after the last appeal was heard as there were quite a few appeals so it depends when the last one was heard. It's no fun waiting though.

The phrase I know is "within 5 working days of the final appeal" as the panel first have to hear all appeals, then decide each appeal, then the clerk has to write all the letters to both school/admission authority & parents and get them in the post.

A few clerks will email both parents & school (with permission of all parties), but many prefer the old fashioned snail mail.

Also, school holidays may not count as working days for the clerk - for a start, will there be anyone at school to receive the letters?

Wednesday was the last day of hearing appeals so the 5 working days will make it tomorrow.
The waiting is horrible, just want to know one way or the other, I've never sat waiting for the post to be delivered before!

Thank you for your replies.

Oh really. Wish ours was that quick. Was your appeal successful?
