Thank you for all the useful advice in this forum.

My daughter scored 116 and 117 in the 11+ - not great - but we are putting together our appeal evidence, after the headteacher gave us her strong support.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this one?

My daughter's school only give age standardised scores, not a NC level at the end of Y3,4 and 5. She got 121 for reading and 130 for maths at the end of Y5. Would it be ok to present these scores to the appeals panel or would they prefer to see the equivalent NC levels?

Welcome, fluffster.

Don't worry. There's no problem with providing age standardised scores.

Hello again,

Our appeal is in a couple of weeks and I have already submitted evidence comprising of: last two school reports, CATS results (Y3,4,5) and Y5 SATS results.

I am in two minds whether to take the following Y4 SATS results as evidence of academic potential. :?

Reading 134 and Maths 114 (Y4)
Reading 121 and Maths 130 (Y5)

The scores seem to demonstrate great progress in maths, (which is definitely the case and I have other evidence for this); but while 134 is good for reading, it could be interpreted that she is not maintaining that high standard as there is a significant drop in Y5. What would you suggest I do?

Many thanks again for ALL the advice in this forum.

Dear fluffster

The question I've been debating is what would impress me more - both sets of results, or just the year 5.

I think I would focus on the overall picture - not so much on the trend as on the fact that three of the four results are very good.

The earlier Reading score of 134 is - in my view - simply too good to omit!
