DD started into Year 7 this week and seems to be having a fab time. Not too sure about her lunch choice yesterday of jacket potato and mashed potato! DD enjoyed the bus journey the second day ( I took her the first day) as 4 girls on the bus are in her year and 2 are in her tutor group, however because the bus was over filled and they had to turn members of the public away 2 of her friends have been allocated different bus routes. DD insures me that it's all fine. So far so good.

I, too, feel for your DD with her 70 minute journey.
There is something seriously wrong with our education system when children are having to spend so much time on a bus. For me; Jacket potato and mash = No problem; 70 minutes on a bus = Outrageous (when you live in a relatively densely populated area).
