The automatic qualifying scores for all the Warwickshire grammar schools since they've been using the CEM exams have been:-
Code:

* 2014 scores are a clculated as the sume of two results, instead of three, so scores are approx 2/3 of those of previous years

N.B. for Rugby High offers in 2013 were made down to a score of 300. The automatic qualifying score for Rugby High and Lawrence Sheriff have historically always been set at the same value, although for RHS places are actually offered to lower scores in practice - e.g. in 2012 the qualifying score was 311 for both but offers to the inner area were made down to 299 for RHS, but only to 310 for LSS.

Data sourced from past postings: 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 (and thanks to saram and serendippyty for extra info filling some of the gaps).

Some idea of the amount of waiting list movement:
2011 entry:
AGS: Total on waiting list = 33, Number of offers made from w/l = 21
SGGS: Total on waiting list = 26, Number of offers made from w/l = 14
KES: Offers made to 26th boy on waiting list

2012 entry:
AGS: Total on waiting list = 51, Number of offers made from w/l = 23
SGGS: Total on waiting list = 33, Number of offers made from w/l = 23
KES: Offers made to 16th boy on waiting list

2013 entry:
AGS: Number of offers made after 1st March = 25 (to rank 458 Southern)
SGGS: Number of offers made after 1st March = 9 (to rank 190th Southern Girls)
KES: Number of offers made after 1st March = 11 (also 3 places on appeal)
RHS: Number of offers made after 1st March = 12
LSS: Number of offers made after 1st March = 19
Ashlawn Selective: Number of offers made after 1st March = 12

The information we got in the results letter said that the AQS for KES in 2010 was 337 (not 327). Was this a typo on your part? Or do you have different info that means I have reason to be more hopeful (ds score of 335)....?

Sorry yes - went back to source and have corrected it now. I've also copied the information about waiting list cutoffs across.

If anyone has information about the missing outer area scores for Ashlawn 2010 let me know and I'll add it in.

Hello, I haven't logged in for some time, 1st March was the last time.

I remember going through a similar trial two years ago now where our son had passed his 11 plus but we're in the outer area so score not good enough for a 'direct' entry. We had to go down the appeal route, which proved to be succesful and he's now at LSS and very happy.

I'm not too sure of the appeal process now as I understand that LSS now offers all 120 places so does the appeal process still exist?

If it does we have some background info. that may be of use, just in case we can help out?

Cheers

The appeal process still exists, but because the number of places initially offered has increased, it is likely that lack of spare capacity will now be a bigger factor so appeals are less likely to be accepted without an exceptional case.

Here are some new stats which show the lowest rankings to get an offer on the 2013 offer day. This is useful because while the scores may vary from year to year, the rankings for places ought to be more consistent if the number of places stays the same, so it could be a useful guideline for people next year.

Okanagan,
please excuse my stupid question but I really don't understand how 632nd child on the list could get a place in AGS if 120(SGG) +80 (KES)+120(AGS) only gives you 320 places.
It such a pain waiting for the results now, that any comforting thought would be really welcome :)

That 632nd was across all children in Warwickshire - it was only 411th from the Southern area (i.e. those that were in the priority area for AGS).

So it's only 91 which you are really looking to account for.

Some children will have taken the Warwickshire exam, but also the Birmingham one, and chosen to take up places there instead. Some will have decided to go private. One or two may have moved away. Some will live in areas which although they are in the Southern circle are too far from Alcester for it to be a logistical possibility. From Warwick/Leamington/Kenilworth for example the Stratford schools will be an option, but Alcester isn't for most people.
