Travel from Solihull to Alcester Grammar

Hi , could anyone advise me please, there is a school bus that runs from Lapworth to AGS and I assumed it would be quite easy to secure a place as we will be paying to travel. However Warks advise that we have to apply under the Vacant Seat Scheme , and we may not know til after the closing date if we have a place/ seat. The closing date is August which to seems a little to late to advise. If we don't secure a place I am not sure if there alternative options, dies anyone have any advice please
