Thanks everybody.Onebigdilemma, he still needs hit tutor till September and his exam is in September so I can't really save money. I'm not too stressed now.

I suspect what onebigdilemma meant was, if from the moment he stopped with the tutor, in Sept, you continued to put away the amount you were spending on the tutor (say £25 a week - that is what I think tutors cost around here!) - if he then wasn't able to secure a place at Ashlawn through the selective route, by Sept 2015, you would easily have saved the amount needed for the bus.
