I'm really fed up waiting to hear if DD has a place at grammar and I expect you are too. I'm even more fed up the Warwickshire education dept. had the standardised results from nfer within 3 weeks of the test but have unilaterally decided we parents are not going to be given them until March.
DD sat the glos. 11+ on the 10th november and we got those results on Saturday(she passed so that is a relief to have some insurance!)
Parents in bucks. have also got their actual scores from octobers exam.
I have spoken to those in charge at the education authority and after initially denying they had the results (good job I spoke to nfer first eh?!) they then said they did not think it would be good for us to knowthem! Our decision I think!
The freedom of information Commissioner says we might be entitled to the scores and parents would need to make a written request asking for a "subject access request" under S7 Data Protection Act 1998 acting as legal pareny or guardian for their child.

Hmmmm. Not really sure how I feel.... It would be nice but knowing before March really wouldn't change anything for us. As I say, not sure. We've always known it was March so I'm quite comfortable with that.

I understand that some children sat the exam as late as 3rd Nov. This must mean that the results have only very recently been standardised by NFER? Also, the panel will not have looked at the boarderlines yet??

It IS quite frustrating knowing that the results are there but we can't have them...... But I think I'm happy to wait.

can be done though - N Yorks gave us the exam results together with the number who reached the cut off both in and out of area ( eg 120 - 48 in area 72 out of area for the school I was interested in) and the number of places available for each of the grammar schools (eg 112). Added to this was helpful info re the furthest distance away people lived who got in last year. we got thgis on Oct 18th and were able to fill in the CAF accordingly.

Not sure whether I would actually do it but do you know who we would make the written request to?

I presume this applies to Wirral as well? I recently posted a question in the Wirral section wondering whether we could do this.

I just think it would be nice to know the scores so that if he's missed by loads we could settle our minds down to our local secondary (and let people know so that they're not all asking on one day in March!) If missed by just a few I could prepare for appeal and if he's passed then hey we're laughing.

It's the long wait not knowing that's going to annoy me, if he hasn't made it that's fine by me I'd just like to know.

I would be very interested to know how you get on P's mum, keep us posted. I may follow this up myself so that I know what path to take with my child, I'm not keen on our catchment school so at least I could be investigating other options if I were to know if Grammar is a definite no!

Has anyone tried to get early results from WCC?

I haven't...
Can't remember where I read it now, but remember reading/hearing that they can delay giving out the info you request for x amount of weeks/months, therefore making it a rather pointless exercise at this stage from what I recall.
