nope, still hate split infinitives and, frankly, sentences ending in a proposition - although admit that Winston Churchill's "up with which I will not put" to avoid it is a tad bizarre.
As for correcting menus, there's a traffic light outside a cafe where an A board offers "baugettes." My fingers itch. However, it's a rough part of town - I can't, can I??

The worst thing for me is the use of the word 'of ' instead of 'have'. I find it is being used very often by people who should know better. I hear it all the time...colleagues at work say it all the time, people write it in e-mails and letters, my children now say it to me simply because they know it infuriates me, it is incredible how many people use it.
Aaaaaaaaaaaargh.....it drives me mad.
I think it might be out of order for me to correct my boss, what do you think ?

Everyone makes typos from time to time, but I'm surprised how often people on this forum can't spell the name or sort of school their DC are applying to or already attend. In particular, "grammEr" is NOT a word!Milla wrote:
while split infinitives are the spawn of the devil, bad spelling is fine of course!
