A link to a list of schools expressing an interest in becoming
academies has appeared on the BBC website, just in case
anyone is interested.

Slough Grammar and Langley Grammar, with St Bernard's already in the mix, leaves only Herschel not seeking academy status in Slough

I couldn't see that ... probably because I was trying to load the file up on an NHS computer and they always eat PDF files and blank out half the word!!! I'm home now I'll try again!!

As I understand it, you will be the lucky ones.
My daughter's school became an academy at the
beginning of this year and so lost their ability to
select on the basis of academic achievement  . Unless
what I have been reading over the past few days is
very wide of the mark, that will not happen now.

Although my daughter will not really be affected (just
completed her GCSEs) and it has very much been 'business as
usual' for the past year. The teaching is superb! Pretty much everyone
would have preferred to retain selective status.

Wish for the sake of the school we could have it back!

The file I looked at was an excel. Go to the Non-Outstanding schools link at the bottom of the page, scroll down to North Yorkshire, then click on the little + on the left. Tadcaster Grammar (non grammar school) is also applying.
