Interestingly one of the interview questions for indie school was about Nelson, thankfully he answered correctly and didn't say the armada was a Spanish tapas bar 
. Very sad that History in schools (primary) seems so rigid not swaying from the Romans/Greeks etc... All good, but a little learning of the key UK history points and people at an early stage, I always think, gives them a good understanding of where we are today.
By the way - of course Raleigh invented the bicycle
