Dear All

A cat keeps coming into my garden, sits under my gazebo on my bench/seats and sits/lays there like Lady/Lord Muck.

I have cats hairs all over my cushions, I am not a happy bunny.

I totally accept cats roam and have no problem with cats "passing through" the garden. I do have a problem with it taking up residence under my gazebo, on my cushions

Any ideas?

Patricia

Yes shoot it with a water pistol :?

Yes i know some people might think it cruel but apparently it will put the cat off coming in your garden. Obviously not a huge great supper soaker but a pound shop water pistol would do the job :D

I have 2 cats and a big fat "pug face" type cat kept coming in our garden which caused fights with fur flying everywhere but i have chucked, or tried to chuck, a cup of water at it and although i miss most of the time it seems to have worked in keeping it at bay.

We use a cat detector - sends out a high pitched noise when activated by movement. You can buy them at garden centres.

A friend has this, but it can be heard by humans, and would drive me insane.

Golden labradors are quite good at keeping cats at bay  although it is the only good thing to be said for them

A tennis ball inaccurately lobbed by your youngest.....a high pitched screeching noise by yourself ( only under the cover of darkness and enhanced by a glass of wine.)

I do sympathise..I have the same problem, but as well as copious amounts of ginger cat hair, I also have hundreds of starlings messing over my gazebo and cushions, the cat could at least see them off whilst trespassing in my garden.( I do have a dog, but he will just lie there snoring, completely oblivious.)

Thanks for all your suggestions, including the pet tiger!

I have tried "chucking" water and after 4 consecutive days it seemed to have done the trick, I had not seen it for 3 days, until this morning

I will go to the garden centre tomorrow to see what I can find.
