Can confirm three nests well and truly blitzed; no activity for past 4 days, only letting out hatched larvae through loft sky hatch.
Maybe the old nest leaves a signature for the following wasps to home in on...

Re: Odd noises, bees and wasps - any ideas please?
We found 12 nests (I am not joking) in the roof space above my daughter's room. She had actually been complaining of clicking noises above and attempting to sleep in my bedroom but I thought it was just her imagination as I couldn't hear anything! As none of us wanted to clear them ourselves, we got someone else to do it
Unfortunately yesterday we had sudden swarm of flying ants in the utility room - the wall looked like something from Indiana Jones . They were sprayed with gusto by dc2 (I kept worrying the chemicals would affect his brainpower, which he needs for November) and dc1 was sent to the shop to buy some bait. Things seem to be quieter now.
What next? Slugs, rats, locusts?
