I do remember DS being given a reading scheme in the last year of nursery. It was called Where, he looked at the back and said "Oh, I've got the When book, the ... Book and the ... Book next! Will they all be this boring?" fortunately, the following year his reception teacher was excellent and allowed him to read whatever he chose alongside some infant readers. At 15 his bed is still full of books and he still reads a couple per week.

:lol: It's funny though isn't it, that the reception teacher was wise enough to let him read his own thing, but still had to give him the "infant readers" like they are some kind of medicine.
