Khan academy

Post by Waiting_For_Godot »

So I've had a good look at the biology section of KA and I'm wondering if his topics are in any sort of order as they don't seem to be. I was never very good at biology but surely The Celk would come before Cell Respiration? Have I got it wrong and if not, how would I order the videos?

P.S. I am getting a great education! :D

Glad you are learning something :D Is The Celk related to The Hulk? Presumably The Cell? And yes, I would have thought is would come before cell respiration. Have you started yet, WFG, or is this prep for next term?

It's prep. Actually I need to know how to explain things because DS needs it spelt put to him - probably why he's been struggling. Once he's got it though he does really well. I was thinking about just letting DS watch the videos but Khan does waffle and even i turn off, and some of the funny comments would be lost on kids.

My older daughters school uses the exploring science books, which goes from year 7-9 which I think are the best series I have seen. They are laid out simply with yellow summary points at the end. They can also be bought from amazon for less than £15.00.
