I have an exceptionally able 9-year old, and an 11-year old who is able, but benefits from some one-to-one help with maths. Can anyone recommend a book of multi-step (maths) problems which I could occasionally work through with the two of them together, so that my 9-year old learns that, by persistence, he can achieve even if something is difficult, and so that my 11-year old continues to develop mathematical skills? I'm more interested in focussing on the 9-year old now, as the 11-year old goes on to grammar school soon, and hopefully (!) will receive good teaching there. Being seriously under-stretched at school, the 9-year old gets little opportunity to appreciate that difficult things are doable. I am concerned for his ability to learn to persist...

Thanks.
