It will soon be the end of the summer term.....and prezzy time for teachers!

My DD's teacher is retiring. Any ideas of what would be a suitable gift?

Any teachers out there, what do you really like to receive? :D

Boy or girl teacher ?

When DD1 left, her teacher had been incredible with her appeal. Huge batman fan......bought hI'm batman cufflinks . He did wear cufflinks.

Otherwise I'm mean and don't buy

I too would like some ideas. We've done home made jam for many years, labels made by my dc. I'd like to give something different but not expensive, or maybe even home made.

Any ideas of something the kids could make for their teachers?

Thankfully this year they have been making yearbooks in ICT so we all just contributed towards buying one for each of the teachers too. On the day there will be a card and a little box of choc/nice fudge as well I should think

I think that after the events of the past 5-6 weeks, DD's teacher (also retiring) will simply be pleased to see the back of them :(.

I know my sister (a teacher) gets literally inundated with chocolates (so avoid those) and is very pleased with a voucher. I find gifts that have so blatant a value a bit tricky  so have previously bought either some hand cream (useful and pampering!) or I plant up a seasonal plant in a little pot - geraniums are everywhere just now. We usually club together as a class and get vouchers - less embarassing somehow.
Ginx I like the idea of your jam very much, I think its lovely, personal and delicious (I guess)! However, as I've never made jam its probably not good to use teachers' presents as a vehicle for a test run....

My sister is a teacher and usually ends up filling the bath to put all the flowers in.
