Ramadan 2013

DS doing ok with this holy month of Ramadan. Breakfast by 3.30am and then open fast at 9.20pm, that's about 18hrs with no food or drink.

How is everyone's child doing? 11+ preparation takes a bit of a knock crack especially when the exam has moved to sept and the hit weather.

Last ten days approaching.

Assalamu alaikum (peace be with you) sbarnes

My ds is fasting too, its his second year now where he has fasted the whole month. He's really enjoying it and is planning to sit in iti'kaaf (retreat) in the mosque.
Yes you are right, its hard to do 11 plus prep when you child is fasting but you still have August.

Hope you have a lovely Eid!

Sorry to jump on your thread but maybe you could help me. Our Muslim friends kindly called on us on Christmas Eve with some treats for the children, I would like to do the same for her for Eid, any suggestions - I was thinking maybe some sweet treats or maybe a decorated candle or lantern from the children.

Thanks and peace to all.

Dear redvelvet,
Tthe lantern idea is lovely. The lanterns were used traditionally to try and spot the moon which heralded the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid. You could fill the lantern with treats!

Happy Eid!!

wishing you and your family nice end of Ramadan.
