The M&S blazer with one button fits DD perfectly, but they only do it in black :(. The blue blazer has two buttons but looks awful on her. I'm sure it's exactly the same as the boys' blazer.

Re shoes, DD started off year 7 in just about the flattest Mary Janes ever made - replaced after a couple of months by a pair of Kickers "Kick Lo" lace-ups (the plain black leather ones with black stitching and black laces, as opposed to the "Hi" version in patent leather with pink stitching which a girl up the road wears to our local girls' RC secondary  ). The school actually did say that shoes should be waterproof(!), so these were fine, even the little red and green tags. When she moved schools a week or so before the end of last term, no-one objected to the Kickers, so I have just ordered a new pair. It is possible that the new school may request that the tags are removed, though (they had already fallen off the old pair).

The Kickers do seem to be fairly popular with girls around here, although more wear Mary Janes or pumps.

Black brogues are very popular at DD's school (year 8 )
