Ethics

Post by JaneEyre »

On some threads of this forum, there are from time to time some conversations about racial mix in schools in Britain… some white British parents being worried of choosing a school with ‘too many’ ethnic minorities. :(

Though not about schools nor about the UK   , I found this article commemorating an action done by a brave girl less than 20 years ago in the US very uplifting… :D

A matter of doing what is ethically right. :P
I have a dream… I have a dream….. I have a dream of a world where people would be colour blind!... or without prejudice!

From that article:

"The biggest thing you can do is just be kind to another human being. It can come down to eye contact, or a smile. It doesn't have to be a huge monumental act."

If only we all lived like that.

My understanding of the current discussion on the Kent forum was that people were actively choosing the more diverse school. :D

It's one of the reasons I like Burnham Grammar in Bucks, although I sometimes suspect that it may be one of the reasons it is less popular in some communities that could send their children there.
