Hi,

Is there any summer camp for teenagers (15 year) where they can go during summer holidays and have fun while parents are working hard?

Thanks

There are all sorts of things which are specific to each area.

Go onto your council website and look for summer activities or if you post whereabouts (roughly) you are then people may be able to give details.

I guess it depends on their interests, whether you want them to stay there and how much you can afford.

DD is going on a one week pony holiday. She will be staying the full week, but it is reasonably local, just not local enough to drive her there and back everyday.

If they are interested in techy stuff there's techcamp.

This is an issue for most people as a lot of holiday clubs stop at 11. One local to us goes to 14.

And people wonder why teenagers spend all day roaming the streets.

Is there a local sailing club? They often run courses suitable form teenagers.

DS1 and DD have been on residential courses with these people http://www.giftltd.co.uk. DS1 was originally put forward by his school - they didn't pay for the weekend, though :( - but this isn't necessary. Cardfields is in the middle of nowhere but only 20-25 miles from us so we prefer courses there, but DS1 has been to the Grendon centre; depending on where you are in Gloucestershire, possibly the journey would be less - or at least not more - arduous than from our corner of SE Essex...

What is your teen interested in? My DS would have refused to go on a summer camp run by the council but last year went on a cricket tour for a week and away with the explorers. Otherwise he bummed around with friends playing football at the local powere league. It isn't easy to get them to do things at that age unless it is a specific interest. What are friends doing?

My 2 are going on PGL trips. The one at Liddington near Swindon is a favourite but this year they are going to Boreatton Hall Shropshire as they get a trip to Alton Towers and Drayton Manor!
If you in the Gloucestershire area
I have a feeling there is a tennis based holiday day camp at Virgin Active Brockworth, There are also day camps based around some of the independant schools in Cheltenham- look up Super camps and Kings camps.
My dd is volunteering in our local library to keep her out of mischief for a few weeks.
