I would not worry too much that the TA is giving the lesson! DD1 has just embarked on a PGCE Primary course with maths specialism - you need a GCSE grade C or above to be accepted!!!!!????!!
Some of her fellow student teachers just about passed the teachers skills test at the third attempt and they are complaining about the "rigour" of the new curriculum which, shock, horror, involves knowing the 12 times table so that you can teach it to the poor pupils. Many of the pupils by year 6 will have a considerably better grasp of maths than their teachers!
Never mind, as long as you can spend each and every lesson playing silly little games with bits of laminated card, OFSTED will be ecstatic. Each lesson seems to proceed at a funereal pace with little achieved and at no point does any child actually have to get their brain into gear which is good because then you can carry on with the fantasy that everyone is almost equally able.

Good luck withe interview; I am sure you will be at least as good as most primary teachers and a lot better than some!

You are a qualified teacher so it should be fine. Both my ks2 children have both learned nothing at all yet in maths this term from primary teachers who have taught many years. You might be the first to teach them something this term so enjoy it!
