Exciting: just 5 balls played and NZ lost their star batsman.

Next update after several hours.

NZ all out for just 183 runs in 45 overs. Dear dear.
Aussies played really well so far. Now is NZ bowlers turn to show their mettle. They have done it before.

Be fair - it was 184.

ETA I stand corrected. Blame DH who was actually listening at the end of the innings

I understand from those members of the family who got up at an ungodly hour to watch this that it hasn't been worth the bother and they wish they'd stayed in bed. I wish they had too as both of them have to get up early for work tomorrow and what with the advent of British Summertime (heralded here by rain and what I am told are equinoctial gales ) and being up at 430 today I predict less than clement moods all round.

Australia comfortably cruising to victory. 130 for 2 in 25 overs.

Just for record:
Australia won by 7 wickets, scoring 186 runs in 33:1 over. NZ thoroughly crushed by Aussies.
