on the other hand there is new research suggesting that computer aided learning adds nowt to outcomes , but if our children cannot programme how will be compete in a global market?

I think the core subjects should be English, Maths, Sciences and Computing if we are to survive in this very competitive global market.
Within 20yrs even every Chinese student will be able to speak English ,most of the educated Subcontinent already do, so other MFL will decline , English will rule the waves.
